Container warmth keeping - the way to maintain optimal temperature
Nowadays container transportation is one of the most convenient and common ways of cargo transportation. Using containers simplifies organization and arrangement of multimodal transportation (using different kinds of transport for transportation of one cargo).
A part of cargos transported in containers and not requiring any special transportation conditions can be damaged due to rapid temperature changes during the transportation. Container warmth keeping is the way to maintain stable temperature in it and save the transported cargo.
"T-Trans" offers the service "Container warmth keeping" for additional protection of your cargo.
Standard way of warmth keeping is the following:
- timber lathing is constructed;
- insulation is placed on the timber;
- the outer layer of plywood is constructed (inserting vents is possible).
Generally styrofoam is used for container warmth keeping. Styrofoam can be stacked in 1-2 layers, to improve the thermal performance.
Using the Macro
Ordinary insulation - a layer of styrofoam with thickness of 5 cm.
Double insulation - two consecutive 5 cm layer (extra insulation film between layers of styrofoam can be placed).
To maintain the normal conditions for cargo container can be equipped with a ventilation system.
It is important that the styrofoam not only provides insurance against damage to cargo during sudden temperature drops, but also provides additional mechanical protection.
Using this type of warmth keeping is much cheaper, than using thermos cars or refrigerated sections.
